Under the veil of abstraction

I don't know if anybody is reading these at all ....

Let me try transliteration:

firaq (separation) kee gharee (time) aab qareeb aya chahay
yaar say rakhna door hamain kiyoun yeh dunya chahay

jatay jatay kaash kay woh milta ja'ey
dil bhee ab ik zakhm (injury) naya chahay

kinaray lagtay lagtay barha (manytimes) yeh kashty dooby
iss shakasta'e dil (heart-broken) say na janay khuda kia chahay

ho sakay to kabhee humain piyam (message) karna
yeh jism-e-beyJaan (lifeless body) bhee apny ahyaa (The act of making alive) chahay

bey-wafaa hum unhay phir bhee na kahain gay
kuchh hamary khata (mistake) thee, baqee jo tu khudayaa chahay

jantay hain kay woh majboor hay phir bhee
yeh dil toofan main jalanaa ik diya (lamp) chahay

woh gaya Salik, tu bhee ab kooch (depart) kar
iss shahar kay dar-o-deewar uss kee yaad dilaya chahay

I do Read, but barely understand, but i can guess the general meaning form the title !
I J said…
that's why this one doesn't have any title!!

But i think the Urdu used is very simple. Try a bit harder.

I do Mean The Urdu Title :)

@Anonymous: Maybe your vocab is better than that of native Urdu speakers or you r really good at guessing!

@Myself: i really thought you were the @Anonymous. Don't forget, there are many 'burger' urdu speakers (just like me perhaps), if you are familiar with the term hahaha :)
I J said…
I don't know which one is worst: writing these ghazzals or the fact that nobody understands them !

How come you write this and you call yourself a 'burger'.

And I donno what do you mean by worse?!

Anonymous does make a valid point :)
The latter is probably worse since the former has already been taken care of...
Is the title really dynamic or is it just me?
I J said…
It is dynamic cos I have not been able to think of a good one! :(

I was afraid of the previous titles, prob. what they might lead to.

suggest something!

I donno why the titles are making so much problems ?!
Anonymous said…
well the translation maybe just added more words to vocab i already know, and maybe a more specific idea about what is going on !
and sh there like a standrized way to wirite urdu in Roman letters ?
I J said…
Urdu to roman letter: I don't think there is a standard way, so far.

woh gaya Salik, tu bhee ab kooch (depart) kar
iss shahar kay dar-o-deewar uss kee yaad dilaya chahay..............beautifuly written ,but i didnt like titles of poetries u have published specially "hijaab sirakta hai"
I J said…
titles are just titles, they had a meaning behind them :)

You should write more so that we get pattern of title in your poetries as its in ghalub , mir taqi, etc
Otherwise they title and poetry itself are two poles apart.
