No matter what anyone says, learning Arabic is very difficult!!
For one, you have to decide: spoken Arabic or written Arabic. In addition to this, take into consideration the history of this language: every work has tons of synonyms! Although its almost-perfect structure does help somewhat, but it is not easy!
After many failed attempts in the past, the recently found this book: Al-Arabiyatu Bayna Yadayk. This comes in three volumes and I think it is marvelous. Perhaps not so for the real beginners. I also have realized, one needs a tutor. All my previous endeavors were solo attempts.
