In Pakistan: To Quetta and Back!

Just returned from a 2-day road trip to Quetta, PK. We were around 12 people, so we rented out three cars with chauffeurs.

For Quetta, you can rent out cars like we did, or ride on buses/coaches from the old Subzi Mandy located on the University Road. The particular company that we considered was Japan Motors!

There are two ways to go to Quetta from Karachi, either from the interior Sindh, through Jacob Abbad area or through the Lasbela route to Quetta via Khuzdar.
The one way trip is around 10 hours at their normal pace, since these drivers/chauffeurs drive on this route regularly.

We started five in the morning. On our way out of Karachi, we crossed Hub, Windur, Uthal, Gawadar Highway exit also called Zero Point, Lasbela, Wadhi, Khuzdar, Qalat, Mastung, and finally for a cold night at Quetta!

(beautiful sunset before reaching Quetta)

There are a few decent restaurants along the way. We stopped at Chamroot Restaurant in Khuzdar. You can stop here for a decent lunch and has a mosque right next to it. Hotel Makka (maybe with different spelling) is also good for a tea stopover near Mastung.

Just be careful, the one way trip is around 750km of which almost 1/4 to 1/2 is under construction. However, the road between Qalat and Khuzdar is great! Remember to keep a spare tire and be sure to check the tire pressure.
