Italy (4): Moving about in Rome

Due to it's ancient history, it's tough to dig up rome to build a decent metro/subway system. Even then, they do have two metro lines, but nothing quite as convinient as in Paris. Be prepared to walk, a lot!

The metro system map and tarrif can be found at: ATAC Roma.

For the tickets, the best that we found, was the ROME PASS. It is for 20 Euros ad it includes anytime travel in the metro or the bus (or tram) for full 3 days. PLUS you get to visit two attractions for free without waiting in the lines, except the vatican, that is. So you can bypass the lines at the Coloseum or the forum, plus you do get discounts on many other attractions, museums etc.
