Euro Trip (3) : Black Forest Region, Germany

We started from Saarbrucken and headed towards the black-forest region, in southern Germany. As the name suggests, the area encompasses beautiful forest, with lakes, streams and very good scenic views. This is where the cuckoo clocks were first built.

We first head out to Baden-Baden, famous for many things, including warms natural baths, and of course the nudist colonies.

In this region, don't forget to drive on the schwarzwaldhochstrasse. This is the most scenic route in the region.

( stop over at a lake on the schwarzwaldhochstrasse )

The drive itself is worth the visit, but we found something even better. Drive to the town of Triberg near Freiburg and you will find an amazing cascading waterfalls.

( what you see above is just the lower portion of the falls)

The falls are very huge, and built in stage. You can climb as higher as you want, weather and stamina permitting. There are even bridges over the falls as you climb up. Trully was amazing.

Remember, you can either park you car on the street, or drive right to the top of the mountain.
