Having bought the Entertainer Dubai, and having tried various steaks across the city for some time, I felt like trying the local burger scene here.
Now I am no expert at burgers and I have grown up to a different and a spicier versions in my home country, but that doesn't mean that I can't enjoy it here, right?. So below are some of the burgers that I tried (and there are still many more to try). So don't take my comments too seriously, and explore for yourself, it should be fun.
Chili's, Dubai
There is nothing really special about this one and nothing positive pops-up in my mind when i see the picture below. Everything was just plain regular:

As this restaurant specializes in burgers, I had very high expectations. But it wasn't a total let down.

The Butcher Shop, Dubai
Although this restaurant doesn't specializes in burgers, but their taste and quality was similar to GBK. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures.
Paper Fig, Dubai
I just wanted to go somewhere near my home and this place seemed to have very good ratings. It was a pleasant surprise, we don't have places like this in Sharjah. They basically carry deserts and sweets, but the Wagyu burger was totally eventless, unfortunately. But the fries were just phenomenal!!

SOHO Bar & Grill, Dubai
I tried the Fat Cow, and boy was it filling! It was huge and felt so guilty after eating it :) But nothing special about the taste.

The Counter, DubaiNow we have heard good things about this joint, and they really did live up to the expectations. The taste of the meat was really good and the seasoning was nice as well. I went there with some guests and everybody loved it. This would be my second best choice so far.

Okay now, none of the above places are really bad. In fact, they are what you'd expect from a regular decent good/expensive burger joint. But they are just to plane and none of them really stands out.
Burger Rebel, Dubai
This was the first place that I started my burger adventure with and is really worth it! I have been there more than once and the taste of the meat and the seasoning is just perfect. Their quality and taste makes me go there again. My first choice, so far.

PS I am no food writer, so I can't really think of good superlatives.

I don't recall trying a gourmet burger before, except for shake shack if that counts which was reqlly good, but a bit pricy for the portion size. But fast food chain wise, Max burger is by far the best I had till now.
after the horse meat scandal, i stopped swedish meat ;)
but i generally go for local chains
